But what if my children outgrow their Ellie&Anders clothes?

One of the questions we are asked by parents thinking of buying a capsule for one of their children is, “what if my child outgrows their Ellie&Anders clothes?”

This is an excellent question because children grow, sometimes very quickly, and sometimes unpredictably. We are parents and understand how children grow. When we were designing the clothes, we tried very hard to give as much growth room as possible in the clothes. The pants and leggings have elastic waists that will let them be worn by growing children. The dress and shirts are just a tad longer than they need to be so that they can cover a child who has grown an inch or two.

At the heart of the question is also another question, “if my child outgrows these clothes in six months or a year, will I have been able to get my money’s worth out of the clothes?” When we designed Ellie&Anders clothes, and as we continue to develop new clothes, we have made them from fabrics that are durable, among other qualities. Ellie&Anders clothing will last your child much longer than ordinary clothes, even if they are used very hard. While Ellie&Anders clothes are more expensive than ordinary clothes, we have designed them so that you child can get at least two, or three, or four, or more times the wear out of them that they might from another set of clothes. All of this while still looking good enough to wear for family pictures. In this way, we have tried to ensure that the Ellie&Anders family of users will get more than their money’s worth out of the clothes—this even if their child outgrows the clothes, as we anticipate they will before the clothes wear out.

If your child does outgrow the clothes (as we anticipate they will before the clothes wear out) we are happy to find a new child/home for the clothes. We created Ellie&Anders because we want to be good stewards of the earth’s resources. Please just send us an email telling us what clothes you have that your child has outgrown. We will arrange to have the clothes sent back to us where we will clean them, assess them and then find a new child that can use them. We will also send you a code so that the next size up of the clothes you buy will be 30% off. The feedback we get from our Ellie&Anders family members is that their children prefer to wear Ellie&Anders clothing above anything else they own, including their pajamas. In this way, we are pretty confident that your child will have Ellie&Anders clothes on quite often. We hope they take them outside to play in the mud, climb a tree or slide down the hill. We hope that even in the short time that children are the same size, your child will help you get more value from her/his Ellie&Anders clothes than from several pairs of traditional clothes.

In fact, one of the main complaints we have received from parents is that their child is finally outgrowing the largest size of clothes we sell and are sad that their child can no longer wear her/his favorite clothes anymore. They ask us to make larger sizes, which we are working on doing.

With that in mind, we would encourage you to let your child use the clothes as hard and as often as they would like.
