“Technical clothing” means clothing with a specific purpose. For example, technical climbing clothing is built so that it can be worn with a harness, and/or has minimal pockets so they do not catch on the rock/ice wall. In a more general sense, “technical clothing” has come to mean clothing that is rugged enough to be worn as activewear but also pass as dress up or dress down wear.
There are many options for adult technical clothing. Most of the pants I wear are technical pants, meaning that they are designed to be taken out hiking, but also look like a nice pair of jeans or suit pants.
We designed Ellie&Anders to bring technical clothing to children clothing. We designed our clothes with active/outdoor wear in mind. They are rugged enough to be worn out hiking, on the playground, or whatever other activities a child plays in during the day. At the same time, we designed them to be comfortable enough that they can be worn in place of any of the child’s other comfortable clothing, and we designed them to look like a nice pair of chinos, or nice girl’s dress.
Our goal is that by having long-lasting clothing that can fill multiple purposes, you will need less clothing for your children, and it will be able to perform well whether dressing your child up, or letting them play outside with their friends. We want children and parents to experience the pleasure of having clothing that can be worn all the time, every day of the year, as it was designed to be.
Welcome to the world of children’s technical clothing.
